The Argument

We want you to have an argument with us. We’re working something out and would like you to be there. There’s certainly plenty we can learn from you. The conversations we have at present are so dull, and there are new ways to think. Heated exchanges to be had. We know you want to be part of the conversation. So come down for The Argument. It can be about anything. It can be about art. Or sports. Maybe we’ll even get on to theatre.
Join us in this entirely serious experiment in the potentialities of performer-audience exchange with The Argument, the latest production from theatre company spare the rod. In just 60 minutes and guided entirely by ideas from the audience, we are going to answer some big questions via some serious discussion. Things don’t half feel a bit staid and samey out there, don’t they? Perhaps you can make a contribution to the solution.
Formed by George Abbott and Alfie Lanham-Brown, spare the rod creates intimate, audience-driven experiences that challenge theatrical conventions and make hilarious jabs at modern society. Having performed at the Camden and Edinburgh fringes as well as across London, our previous production My Plan for Tomorrow was described as “Fresh, exciting… undoubtedly promising” (The Reviews Hub) and “Something that manages to leave you stunned” (The Play’s The Thing UK).
